The song was first announced on March 25, 2018[1] as part of "#CountdownToExpectations" held on Kiyoko's social media profiles. It was the second last song to be announced off of the album.
Born in Los Angeles, California[2], this song dictates Hayley’s current odyssey to stardom which she achieves with some help from the "golden state": California.
