Sarah Kawahara (born September 15, 1961) is a Canadian figure skater of Japanese ancestry. She is the wife of Jamie Alcroft and mother to Hayley Kiyoko Alcroft, Alysse Alcroft and Thatcher Alcroft. She, along with her husband, often go to tours of Hayley.

Kawahara was born in 1961 in Vancouver, Canada and is of Japanese descent. She eventually married Jamie Alcroft and together they conceived three children: Hayley, Alysee and Thatcher. The married couple is currently living in California.

Career[]

Kawahara was coached by Osborne Colson. She joined the Ice Capades at age 17 and skated with them for seven years. In 1997, she became the first skater to win the Best Choreography Emmy Award, receiving the award for Scott Hamilton Upside Down. She won her second Emmy in 2002 for choreographing the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Kawahara has choreographed for numerous competitive skaters, including synchronized skaters. She served as a coach and choreographer for the film I, Tonya.

She is involved with multiple films and TV specials and Touring shows involving ice-skating.
